What I Learned

Today I will be discussing what I learned from chapters 7 and 8 in "Social Media for Strategic Communication".

In chapter 7 was mainly about understanding how important writing, story-telling, and content curation and creation are for social media. Writing is important for social media because it is a helpful skill to have for future positions, a way to communicate with others, and is a huge part of many careers in social media.

Another thing I learned from chapter 7 was understanding how to find the perfect brand voice. Brands have unique characteristics and make the brand memorable to their consumers, which is important. I learned that you can create a perfect brand by asking yourself what you want your brand to reflect or not, how your audience feels about your content, and what benefits does your audience receive by being a part of the community.

An important tip from chapter 7 was that it is helpful to create a writing guide. This is because it can show your brand's voice and set the standard for it. Another tip for creating content was helpful as well. The chapter explains to create content that you are passionate about and truly enjoy. Also, understand your audience and what they would enjoy as well.

Chapter 8 was mainly about understanding your audience fully and understanding the differences between influencers, ambassadors, creators, and trolls. audience segmentation is important for social media because it allows you to have a better idea of who you are reaching so you can create better content. Something I learned that stood out to me was, breaking down your audience to find your primary and secondary viewers. The chapter also expressed the importance of communities for your brand. Communities help with your consumers because it allows people have very similar interest and goals to have a place to engage and brainstorm ideas.
